FAQ
-
Which airport should I fly into?
Florence Airport (FLR) is the closest (about 45 minutes by car). Pisa (PSA) is also a good option, about 1 hour 15 minutes away. Another affordable option would be to fly direct into Rome-Fiumicino Airport (FCO), then take a high-speed train directly to Florence (Firenze) in about 1.5-2 hours.
-
How do I get from the airport to Quercia al Poggio?
We recommend renting a car for the week, which gives you maximum flexibility to explore. If you would prefer to not rent a car, private transfers and taxis can also be arranged. Travel by train or bus is an affordable and easy option, once you arrive in Tuscany—see our Travel Info tab for recommendations and booking links.
-
What is the dress code?
“Tuscan casual elegance” is encouraged—think summer suits, sundresses, and comfortable shoes for outdoor events. For women, consider dresses in lightweight fabrics like silk, chiffon, or linen. Think floral prints, light colors, and jewel tones. Choose comfortable options such as block heels or flats for navigating the uneven terrain and grassy areas. For men, consider dress pants, light colored linen/cotton trousers, or chinos paired with a lightweight and light-colored shirt and dress shoes, loafers, or boat shoes that are comfortable for walking and standing.
-
Can I bring a plus one?
If your invitation includes “and guest” or your plus one’s name, please bring your guest—we’re excited to celebrate with both of you! If your invitation does not mention a plus one, due to limited space on the property, we are unable to accommodate additional guests. We appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to celebrate with you!
-
Is there parking on the property?
Yes, Quercia al Poggio has ample free parking for guests.
-
Is transportation provided during the week?
As all events are onsite, no daily shuttles are needed. If you need taxis or assistance getting to/from airports or nearby towns by train or bus, let us know and we’ll help coordinate (train and bus stations are about 10-15 minutes from the Villa).
